Frequently Asked Questions

Can I come to lunch and can I bring a birthday treat?

Yes!  Lunch is at 10:20.  You are more than welcome to come eat lunch with your child.  There is special visitors table that you and your child will sit at when you visit.  If you would like to bring a birthday treat on or around your child's birthday, you can. Please let us know ahead of time if at all possible. We want to make arrangements if a student has allergies. Treats will be passed out to all the students around 10:40, in hopes that lunch gets in bellies before they fill up on sweets.

Can my child buy extra items at lunch?

At the end of the check out line in the café, the students have the opportunity to purchase extra items that are not included in the lunch price. These extras include chips, brownies, cookies, and ice cream.  Kindergarten only purchases ice cream on Fridays.  However, we leave the extra purchases on other days up to your discretion.  You can limit extra purchases with an email to the café manger @ Barbara.patterson@cobbk12.org
What are Due West Dollars?

We have a school wide behavior plan called PBIS.  Students earn Due West Dollars as a reward for positive behaviors.  We focus on PRIDE which stands for Participation, Respect, Inspire, Doing the Right Thing, and Exercising Safe Behavior.  When a student is "caught" doing one of these things, he/she earns a Due West Dollar.  These dollars are collected through out the week and spent at the school store, which is called the Due West Trading Post.

How do you do snack?

Please send a healthy snack with your child to school each day. Please send ONLY WATER to drink in the classroom. A reusable water bottle with YOUR CHILD'S NAME ON IT works best  All snacks should be easy for students to manage and clean up.
